Revolutionising SAT Testing: Tribyte Introduces One of The World’s First Digital Platforms for SAT Test Prep

Client Background:

The client is a USA-based ed-tech company that offers test-prep solutions for students looking to take standardised exams such as the SAT and ACT. The company operates on a B2C as well as B2B model, offering its services to individual students and schools.

The SAT and ACT are standardised tests commonly used in the United States as a part of college admissions. According to the College Board, which administers the SAT, there are over 2.2 million SAT test takers and India had the third-largest number of test takers after the United States and China.

The SAT is conducted by the College Board, a non-profit organisation based in the United States. It is designed to assess a student’s readiness for college and is used by many universities and colleges as a part of their admissions process. The ACT, on the other hand, is conducted by the ACT organisation, also a non-profit based in the United States. It is similar to the SAT in that it assesses a student’s college readiness.

Problem Statement:

Historically, SAT and ACT were conducted offline, and students had to take these tests in a physical location. However, with the advent of technology, exams are now conducted online. The client identified a gap in the market where there were no LMS platforms that provided a simulated testing environment for online SAT and ACT. As a result, the client wanted to develop an online platform that would help students take practice tests with almost the same user interface as the original test and that has similar tools and navigation systems. Additionally, the client suggested having a B2B business model in which they could provide the same LMS product to other companies which would be a white-labelled version of the platform.

Solution:

The client approached TriByte to develop an LMS platform that met their requirements. The greatest challenge for the TriByte team was to develop a platform with similar functionality and interface as that of the international exams. This not only called for a detailed understanding of the SAT and ACT but also to figure out a way in which it could be simulated for students. Such a product would help students to prepare for the exams in an almost similar environment. The LMS platform was designed to offer advanced features for analysis, helping students understand where they were losing marks and time. The platform also allowed for seamless integration with the client’s existing systems, making it easy for students and educators to access the platform. TriByte was among the first companies globally, to develop a testing platform similar to the digital ACT and SAT.

Additionally, the LMS product could be bought by other companies from the client and get a white-labelled Digital SAT and Digital ACT testing platform for their courses.

Benefits for the Client:

The client now has a robust white-labelled LMS platform that caters to their needs.

  • Provides a similar test experience as the Digital SAT and ACT
  • Analytics and reporting systems that help them understand how to improve their product
  • Students have a personalised and adaptive learning experience

The client has the first mover advantage and their competitors are partnering with them for the D-SAT and D-ACT platforms.

Conclusion:

By working closely with TriByte, the client was able to develop an LMS platform that met their precise requirements for an online test-prep solution for the SAT and ACT. The platform helped the client establish themselves as a leader in the ed-tech space, while also providing a valuable tool for students and educators alike. The white-labelled version of the platform offered to other companies provided a new revenue stream for the client, further strengthening their position in the market.
